Tedeschi Trucks Band Announces 2026 ‘Sun, Sand and Soul’ Beach Weekend: A Southern Rock Celebration Like No Other**

Fans of groove-heavy Southern soul, blues-rock, and sand-between-your-toes good times, rejoice—Tedeschi Trucks Band is heading back to the beach.
The Grammy-winning ensemble led by Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi has officially announced the return of their beloved *Sun, Sand and Soul* Beach Weekend, set for April 23–25, 2026, in Miramar Beach, Florida. In collaboration once again with immersive music travel company Topeka, the three-day destination event promises to be their most dynamic yet, pairing unforgettable performances with the natural beauty of Florida’s Emerald Coast.
This marks the third edition of *Sun, Sand and Soul*, and if previous years are any indication, fans can expect a carefully curated lineup of musical kin—ranging from up-and-coming roots rockers to legendary names in soul and blues—all performing in an intimate beachfront setting. “It’s not just about great music,” says Susan Tedeschi. “It’s about community, connection, and celebrating what we all love—songs that move you, people who feel like family, and sunsets that remind you to breathe.”
A Musical Homecoming with Soul
The 2026 edition follows two sold-out predecessors that left fans raving—not just about the performances, but the sense of belonging they felt across the weekend. Held on the pristine white sands just steps from the Gulf, the weekend offers three nights of music under the stars, exclusive daytime jam sessions, artist-led workshops, and what the band has affectionately called “porch hangs”—impromptu acoustic sets near the palm trees.
Tedeschi Trucks Band, always the centerpiece of the weekend, will perform all three nights with different setlists and special collaborations each evening. Derek Trucks teases a few surprises for 2026: “We’ve got some musical guests lined up that we’ve never played with before—and a few old friends returning for some one-time-only jams.”
While the full lineup hasn’t been revealed, inside sources confirm that past *Sun, Sand and Soul* alums like Marcus King, Mavis Staples, and The Wood Brothers are in talks to return, alongside a few newcomers from the burgeoning neo-soul and roots scenes.
“It’s the only place I’ve played barefoot and felt like the music reached the water,” said singer-songwriter Larkin Poe after last year’s set. “There’s something magic in the air there. You can’t bottle it.”
### **More Than a Festival: An Immersive Experience**
Far from the chaos of traditional music festivals, *Sun, Sand and Soul* has become known for its laid-back but deeply intentional atmosphere. Capacity is limited to fewer than 2,000 guests, ensuring an intimate, almost family-reunion vibe. Topeka, known for curating immersive artist-fan experiences, helps facilitate meet-and-greets, artist Q\&As, and even beach yoga sessions set to live acoustic guitar.
“We try to break down the walls between performer and audience,” says Topeka founder and CEO Emily Diller. “You’re just as likely to be talking gear with Derek in a workshop as you are dancing barefoot by the main stage during golden hour.”
This year, new offerings will include a “Soul Kitchen” tasting tent featuring Southern and Gulf Coast chefs, curated vinyl listening lounges, and morning gospel brunch sets by emerging Americana vocalists. Children under 12 attend free with an adult ticket, and activities for young music fans will also be expanded.
“We want this to be multi-generational,” Tedeschi adds. “Blues and soul music should feel like a heritage—something passed on.”
A Stage with a View
The main stage, built directly on the beach with the ocean just beyond, has been called one of the most scenic venues in the country. As the sun sets over the water, artists perform against a backdrop of golden light, swaying palms, and firelit tiki torches. “You’ve never heard a slide guitar solo sound so right,” joked Trucks in an interview after the 2024 weekend.
The beachfront accommodations range from cozy villas to luxury condos, all walkable to the festival grounds. Packages include three-day passes, lodging, and access to exclusive events like Derek & Susan’s Campfire Sessions—a semi-secret late-night jam where last year, Brittany Howard and Gary Clark Jr. shared the stage in a mind-melting blues throwdown that wasn’t livestreamed—or ever repeated.
“We want it to feel like a once-in-a-lifetime moment,” says Trucks. “And every year, somehow, it is.”
### **A Look Back—and a Look Forward**
What began in 2024 as a dream to bring soulful music to the beach has evolved into one of the most sought-after boutique music events in the country. The inaugural year drew dedicated fans from 40 states and 12 countries, while last year’s installment sold out within hours of announcement.
For many, it’s become a pilgrimage of sorts. Emily Rocha, a fan from Austin, Texas, has attended both previous editions. “You’re sitting on the sand with a drink in your hand, listening to Susan sing ‘Midnight in Harlem’ as the stars come out. You feel like the world makes sense again.”
And that’s exactly what Tedeschi Trucks Band aims to offer: not just escape, but meaning.
As the band gears up for what will be a major 2026—rumors swirl of a new double album in the works—*Sun, Sand and Soul* offers both a celebration of the past and a look into where they’re heading next.
“It’s about honoring the roots,” says Susan. “And planting new ones.”
