Fleetwood Mac Reunites for 2026 World Tour: “Silver Storm” Brings Stevie, Lindsey, Mick, Christine—Even Peter Green’s Spirit—Back for One Last Spellbinding Ride Through Rock History
By Harper L. Duvall | July 2, 2025
In a move that has shaken the foundations of classic rock fandom and delighted generations of music lovers, Fleetwood Mac has officially announced their 2026 world tour—Silver Storm—a title befitting the band’s blend of mysticism, drama, and raw musical brilliance.
This isn’t just another reunion. This is the reunion—one that few believed possible. Not only are the legendary Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and Christine McVie (via unreleased studio recordings and digital tributes) reuniting, but the band also promises an homage to co-founder Peter Green, whose spirit, they say, “never left the stage.”
Healing Old Wounds
For years, the prospect of a full Fleetwood Mac reunion, especially involving Buckingham and Nicks, seemed unlikely. Buckingham’s 2018 departure, following internal tensions and a near-fatal health scare in 2019, appeared to close the chapter for good. But 2025, it seems, had other plans.
“I had this dream,” Nicks said during the press conference held at London’s Royal Albert Hall. “I saw Peter [Green] in a field of silver trees, and he said, ‘You’ve got one more storm left in you.’ I woke up crying—and I called Lindsey.”
Buckingham, appearing beside her for the first time publicly in over a decade, smiled: “It was time. Too much life has passed not to make peace—and music.”
The band will be joined onstage by Mick Fleetwood, the ever-steadfast rhythmic engine of the group, and a rotating ensemble of musicians handpicked to evoke and honor the many eras of Fleetwood Mac. Though Christine McVie passed away in 2022, her vocals and piano parts will feature prominently through isolated stems, previously unreleased material, and haunting duets with Nicks and Buckingham.
“It won’t be a hologram show,” clarified Fleetwood. “This is Christine, the way she would’ve wanted—intimate, beautiful, and real.”
The “Silver Storm” Experience
The tour, kicking off in March 2026 at San Francisco’s Chase Center, will travel to over 40 cities across North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. Each concert promises a three-act experience: the Blues Origins, the Rumours Era, and a Spellbound Encore.
- Blues Origins
In this act, the band channels their 1967 roots, celebrating Peter Green’s vision with faithful renditions of “Black Magic Woman,” “Albatross,” and “Man of the World.” British guitarist Laurence Jones, known for his fiery blues stylings, will guest-star to capture Green’s tone, while a short film narrated by Fleetwood will highlight Green’s life and impact on modern music. - Rumours Era
The second act will feature a near-complete performance of the Rumours album, alongside hits like “Gypsy,” “Sara,” and “Tusk.” For the first time ever, Nicks and Buckingham will perform “Storms” together—a song fans have long interpreted as a deeply personal reflection on their complex relationship. - Spellbound Encore
Closing with their most mystical material, the encore promises soaring renditions of “Seven Wonders,” “Rhiannon,” and a newly arranged version of “Silver Springs,” which has already been remixed and released in advance of the tour. The final song each night? A surprise collaboration—rumored to be a reimagining of “The Chain” with every living and late member represented through multi-track layers and cinematic projection.
Special Touches & Technology
The Silver Storm tour is a marriage of analog soul and digital magic. Grammy-winning producer Rick Rubin has remastered key tracks for the live show, preserving their rawness while enhancing clarity. Custom-designed visuals by artist Beeple will blend surreal, dreamlike imagery with archival footage, allowing audiences to “walk through the band’s collective memory,” as Nicks puts it.
Each venue will include a Fleetwood Mac Memory Garden, featuring fan-submitted photos, rare memorabilia, and handwritten lyrics displayed in immersive domes. Some nights will include spoken-word performances or storytelling interludes from Mick and Stevie, offering fans insight into the songs’ origins.
What About John McVie?
Notably absent from the live lineup is bassist John McVie, who has quietly retired from touring. “John gave his blessing,” said Fleetwood. “He’s living on his boat in the Caribbean and told us, ‘Do it with all your hearts, and I’ll be listening.’” His bass parts, however, will be performed live by his protégé and long-time friend, Pino Palladino.
Ticket Sales & Fan Reactions
Ticket pre-sales open July 15 via the band’s official site and Live Nation, with general sales starting July 19. Prices range from $99 to $499, with VIP “Silver Storm” experiences—including backstage tours, signed vinyl, and soundcheck access—going for $1,200.
Fans have already taken to social media to express emotional reactions, many posting videos crying tears of joy. One viral tweet read: “Fleetwood Mac reuniting is the closure my parents, my therapist, and my 14-year-old self needed.”
Even artists like Harry Styles, Haim, and Taylor Swift have shown support, with Swift calling the reunion “a generational healing moment.”
Final Curtain—or Final Chapter?
While the band has made no promises beyond the tour, Fleetwood hinted that Silver Storm may also spawn a documentary and live album. Rumors (appropriately) swirl about a final studio EP, with three unreleased Christine McVie songs discovered in the Warner Bros. vaults.
“We’re not trying to live forever,” said Nicks, “but we want to go out the way we came in—singing about love, loss, magic, and madness.”
And so, the storm gathers one last time.
Fleetwood Mac is coming home—to us all.
