On January 25, 2025, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, was abuzz with energy as it hosted HomeSafe’s 22nd Annual Classic Rock & Roll Party. This annual benefit concert, renowned for its fusion of philanthropy and rock music, aims to support HomeSafe’s mission of protecting victims of child abuse and domestic violence throughout South Florida.
The evening was graced by the presence of Nicko McBrain, the legendary drummer of Iron Maiden, who served as the celebrity host. McBrain’s association with HomeSafe spans nearly two decades, during which he has been a steadfast supporter, often contributing not just his time but also musical instruments and personal visits to the organization’s residential campuses.
The event commenced with a dinner program, during which attendees enjoyed a gourmet meal while engaging in conversations about HomeSafe’s impactful work. A silent auction featured an array of coveted items, from exclusive memorabilia to luxury experiences, all donated to raise funds for the organization’s initiatives.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2025 HomeSafe Hero Award to Boca Raton residents Ken and Maggie Rosenberg. This accolade recognized their longstanding dedication and contributions to HomeSafe’s mission, underscoring the vital role community members play in supporting vulnerable populations.
The musical segment of the night was nothing short of spectacular. Mike DelGuidice, a renowned vocalist and full-time touring member of Billy Joel’s band, took the stage as the featured performer. His dynamic performance set the tone for an evening of rock nostalgia and camaraderie.
Adding to the night’s allure, McBrain was joined by an ensemble of rock luminaries, including original Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke, Anthrax lead singer Joey Belladonna, former Twisted Sister drummer Joe Franco, and ex-Judas Priest lead singer Tim “Ripper” Owens. Together, they delivered electrifying performances that had the audience enthralled.
One of the standout moments was a rendition of Journey’s classic “Don’t Stop Believin’,” performed by McBrain and Belladonna. The synergy between the artists was palpable, and the audience’s enthusiastic response highlighted the timeless appeal of rock classics.
Throughout the event, McBrain’s passion for HomeSafe’s cause was evident. Reflecting on his involvement, he shared, “I fell in love with the whole organization after being introduced to it around 2005. I had a wonderful childhood growing up, and some of these children have been through horrors. HomeSafe gives them a future, and I’m honored to be part of it.”
The evening concluded with a high-energy finale, leaving attendees with a sense of fulfillment and inspiration. Beyond the music, the event reinforced the power of community and rock and roll in making a difference for those in need.
