SHOCKING NEWS: Cowboys ‘Solo Mission’ Jerry Jones Coach Plan Is Crashing and Burning…

The Dallas Cowboys head coaching search hasn’t instilled any faith that the organization has a plan going forward.

For most NFL franchises conducting a head coaching search, they cover every base, and talk to a host of candidates to get the best person for the job, but the Dallas Cowboys, so far, haven’t covered themselves in glory.

Many have laughed at the Chicago Bears and New York Jets regarding the sheer number of candidates the franchises have interviewed. But at least they are turning over every rock in an attempt to get better.

Enter the Cowboys.

The franchise hasn’t picked up the phone to at least gauge interest in Bill Belichick or Ben Johnson and yes, while both were unlikely to take the job, at least pick their brains regarding your own team.

Robert Saleh, Kellen Moore, Leslie Frazier, and now Brian Schottenheimer so far have had interviews for the Dallas head coach position.

In fact, “Schotty” on Wednesday got a second interview.

Is that a deep enough search? Not even close.

There was the Deion Sanders psuedo-interest, which lasted a whole couple of days before going silent, so we aren’t exactly sure what Jerry Jones’ plan of attack is here. …

If “Solo Mission Jerry” even has one at all.

Jerry Potential Crash?

The idea of moving on from Mike McCarthy was ideally to get a better head coach, and with those interviewed for his job, can we definitively say they are “better” than McCarthy?

Is McCarthy protege McCarthy better than McCarthy? Is that the concept of the “Jerry Jones Solo Mission” (the “solo mission” phrase being one the organization floated out there boastfully)?

Given that the Cowboys haven’t wanted to look at Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen or Buffalo Bills coordinator Joe Brady or even get an interview with Aaron Glenn, it shows exactly how “well” this coaching search is going.

All this coaching search has done is show that Jerry Jones and the front office might not have a plan of attack and might be making it up as they go – “grab-bag and grab-ass,” as our Mike Fisher is calling the process.

Did they expect McCarthy to remain at The Star? And now that he walked out, are they scrambling?

Is that what a successful NFL team does? No. The Cowboys have been many things over the years, but successful in football terms isn’t one of them.

If there is a plan of attack, Jerry, maybe now would be the time to let it leak … because, as things stand, an already disgruntled fan base that has been crying out for change is beginning to sharpen those pitchforks.

A head coaching search needs to cover all bases and include all available candidates to create a blueprint for the franchise’s future.

And as things stand, Dallas’ head coaching search has proved to be anything but a legitimate attempt to get better. … with “Jerry Solo” so far just manning a craft that is crashing and burning.
